GW4 UKNSR Collaboration
August 2025 - Onwards
The GW4-UKNSR Collaboration puts into practice actions agreed by all four institutions, with the support from regional and national networks; initially funded by the GW4 Building Communities Fund, the project aims to encourage common protocols and programmes, encouraging Researchers, RTPs, and Professional Staff to engage in sustainable research practices by standardising and expanding our collective resources.

Governance, renewal cycles, Peer Auditing submissions, and other resources collated between GW4 Institutions.
Facilities &
Equipment Sharing
Mapping, promoting, and advocating for equipment sharing between GW4 Institutions.
Sustainable Procurement
Aligning GW4 Institutional ambitions with sector-wide developments towards purchasing sustainably.
Living Labs
Opportunities to use our University Campus Spaces as living, dynamic laboratories. Building from previous GW4 Building Communities work.
Curriculum &
Training Opportunities
Providing a Training Delivery option for GW4 Institutions. In conversation with ITSS/Nottingham/Warwick, and UCL/KCL/MRC.
Concordat for ES in R&I
Creating shared approaches, resources, and ensuring compliance Concordat for Environmental Sustainability in Research and Innovation.
GW4-NSR Collaboration
Community Space
Part of the project is to provide an opportunity for collaboration between local and regional teams; in addition to the UKNSR member's forum on Discourse, this collaboration hosts a dedicated space for discussing ideas and actions for the South West
